Purpose
Use this report to give stakeholders a high-level, integrated view of programme performance for a defined reporting period. It consolidates business-case currency, benefit and deliverable progress, schedule and financial position, changes, issues, risks, resources, escalations, earned-value measures and near-term accomplishments.
Application
Distribute the report according to the programme communications management plan and each audience's authority, interest and information needs. Apply one reporting cut-off across all sections, reconcile summaries to their controlled registers and plans, and define any red-amber-green or equivalent status criteria before using them. A concise report is useful only when exceptions remain traceable to evidence.
Completion discipline
State the reporting or review period, scope, evidence sources and preparer. Separate observed facts from analysis, assign owners and dates to follow-up actions, obtain the required approval, and retain the report with its supporting records.
